The Health & Safety Executive (HSE) now puts the onus on you to ensure that your first aid course provider meets HSE requirements. The courses that we offer follow established ITC frameworks and meet both HSE due diligence (click here for more info) and are accredited by Ofqual/SQA. Courses include new modules on the use of AEDs and tourniquets and ITC certification that lasts three years.
Courses are run on a maximum ratio of 12 participants to 1 trainer. All trainers are outdoor professionals with many years’ experience of undertaking first aid in remote and often challenging environments – we know how tricky and full on situations can become and are keen to share our experience with you in a relaxed and friendly environment.
Full joining instructions are available following completion of an online booking form along with local accommodation ideas to suit all budgets.
A 2-day course ideal for those operating in outdoor environments, more remote locations and for instructors needs to renew their first aid certificate to ensure that NGB qualifications remain valid (e.g. LLA, HML, ML, SPA, IML, WML, MIA, MIC, BMG and BCU, BASI and British Cycling awards). As this course is Ofqual/SQA accredited, it also provides valid certification for BASI ski instructors and BCU paddling qualifications.
A 1-day, 8 hour course that is ideal for those operating in outdoor environments but where help may be closer to hand. This course aims to equip you with a clear system to manage incidents (including yourself, the rest of your group and casualties) so that you can keep calm under pressure, give emergency first aid and look after those in need until help arrives. A practical, fun and engaging way to learn vital skills that are useful in a wide variety of contexts.
A course that can be delivered to any member of your school staff team over 4 hours as part of an inset day at your school premises, minimising disruption and stress all round. We deliver these courses to a number of schools on an annual basis, ensuring that the whole staff team are up to date with and refreshed on their first aid training and obligations. ITC certification is sent to all attending staff members.
Through our DofE programmes with Adventure Expeditions, we work with over 1,000 DofE participants each year and have seen the need for quality first aid training that gives participants a system to deal with first aid incidents (from minor to major) and common expedition illnesses and injuries successfully and efficiently. We have therefore developed a 4 hour course that sits alongside DofE pre-expedition training to ensure that participants have relevant, up to date knowledge ready for the challenges of expeditions.
The course gives vital skills that can be used more widely outside of the expedition and all participants receive ITC certification upon attendance. This course is a cost effective option for training your students to a high standard and Adventure Expeditions offers full/part bursaries for the course cost for qualifying attendees.
