Jake is both highly experienced and passionate about the outdoors and this is always evident in the energy that he brings to the courses that he delivers. Jake has worked in the outdoor industry for the past 12 years and is a keen climber, runner and mountaineer, both personally and professionally.
Jake has walked and climbed all over the UK from west Cornwall to Orkney and most places in between. Overseas he's been, and led, climbing and mountaineering trips to Norway, France, Belgium, Spain, Italy, China, Kenya, Tanzania, Ethiopia and Alaska.
Some of his personal highlights from the past few years have been soloing 100 rock climbs in an afternoon, new routing in the Adwa mountains of Northern Ethiopia, mountaineering in the Central Alaskan Range and a one day winter traverse of the Cuillin Ridge, Oh and climbing Great Gully on Craig Yr Ysfa- it's the best VDiff ever!
Andy is a director and technical adviser for AE and loves working and playing in the mountains. Hooked on the outdoor life from an early age, Andy's been lucky enough to climb, run, walk and mountaineer extensively in the UK and overseas, pushing himself personally and professionally in the mountains. He love's what he does – a job which gives him the opportunity to pass on skills and hopefully inspire people to take themselves further in the mountains.
He's always seeking out his own adventures – running, climbing and exploring the UK’s beautiful hills and further afield. His proudest achievements include winning the B-Class of the Lowe Alpine Mountain Marathon and completing an un-supported greater-crossing of the Cuillin ridges on Skye above an un-broken sea of cloud – simply breath-taking!
Cat left a career in law to work full-time in the outdoors and has never looked back. Equally happy climbing warm rock in the sun or taking on the challenge of icy Winter conditions, Cat's passion lies in helping others to overcome their fears and achieve their aims in the outdoors. Cat also combines her legal background and experience in the outdoors by providing technical advice and acting as an expert witness alongside her role as director of AE.
Mark is a Mountaineering Instructor and joined Adventure Expertise in 2018 with a variety of experience across different outdoor settings from outdoor education centres, to expedition companies and most recently the Fields Studies Council. Lindy combined her passion for rock climbing and the outdoors with her previous teaching experience when she joined the AE team to manage operations full-time. Lindy's experience adds a great depth to our course management and she is often the friendly voice that picks up the phone when you give us a call! Lindy spends much of her free time rock climbing, bouldering and running and has extensive knowledge of the wonderful wild places of the UK.
